Day 68/365 – On female brains

Day 68
3/9/17
Continuing from yesterday’s post on the feminine, I wanted to share with you a book I’m currently reading, called “Unleash the Power of the Female Brain,” by Dr. Daniel G. Amen, a neurologist. The book is easy to read, while simultaneously having a lot of scientific data to support case reports presented by the author.

It was interesting to learn what functions are governed by which areas of the brain, and the strength of women and men have in these areas. It made perfect sense of the way both genders think, judge and tackle tasks. Men and women have similar capacities of brain ‘power’ but in different areas and different proportions. It’s a fascinating field of study and explains so much of what we deal with day-to-day.

On a side note, it’s always good to have in perspective the capacities of not only the brains of the opposite sex, but children and pets. Cats can’t be expected to follow our instructions or remember our disciplinary remarks, because they don’t have that memory capacity in their limbic system. It’s just not in the cards for them – or in this case in their DNA! Therefore we shouldn’t expect that and we won’t be disappointed! Good to know for better stress management for everyone.
