DIY Electrolyte Drink Powder Recipe

DIY Electrolyte Powder Mix

If you’re in a pinch (pun intended) and can’t make your own electrolyte-rich water with fresh ingredients, keep this powder on hand to add extra hydration to any drink. Or create a delicious drink with this as your base – see recipes below!

Don’t forget to choose high quality water and avoid plastic containers for your beverages. I personally recommend the Boroux countertop filter and glass or stainless steel drinking vessels.

Other things to consider to support hydration, meet your protein needs and heal your gut are bone broth – as a food or supplement.

Ingredients per serving:

Hint: multiply this recipe for larger batches and then use ½-1 tsp as a serving size

  • ⅛ tsp fine sea or Himalayan salt
  • ⅛ tsp cream of tartar
  • ¼ tsp maple syrup powder
  • Optional: ½ tsp of magnesium citrate or glycinate powder

(Can also use a pre-made powder that has the first 3 ingredients combined – here’s one by Earthley).

Directions:

  • Mix into 8 oz filtered water or another base, such as:
    • 50% coconut water, 50% water, and a splash of lemon juice or lime juice.
    • Chilled tea infusion of honeybush, linden, rose, tulsi (these are my favorite for a delicious taste)

Or use in recipes for other drinks like an herbal Mocktail or a Dark salted chocolate milkshake

Dietary information per serving ~300mg sodium, 125mg potassium, 1g sugar
