This simple yet soothing drink has been passed down in Yasmin’s family for generations. What she once enjoyed as a child, she now lovingly prepares for her own daughter. More than just a recipe, it’s a reminder of how food and tradition can nurture both body and soul.
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon khakshir (flixweed, Descurainia sophia) seeds
- 1 teaspoon sugar (or natural sweetener of choice)
- 2 drops fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
- Place khakshir seeds in a bowl of water.
- Wash thoroughly by pouring seeds and water back and forth between two bowls until clear and free of impurities.
- Add sugar and lemon juice.
- Stir well and enjoy chilled.
